Code in the Community (CITC)
Code In The Community (CITC) is Singapore’s largest programme providing free coding classes to get children interested in coding.
Courses
Level 1 and 2 Scratch courses (for 8-12 years old)
Students will learn the basics of computational thinking to develop a foundation of computer science as they create their own animated mini-games using the block-based Scratch programming language; or
Level 1 and 2 Python courses (for 13-16 years old)
Students will learn basic computer science concepts through the text-based Python programming language to code their own adventure story.
Eligibility Criteria
Students aged 8 to 16 years old who meet the following criteria are eligible:
Currently under MOE or school-based Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS); or
A recipient of the MOE Edusave Merit Bursary in 2020/2021; or
Currently a low family-income beneficiary of CDAC / EA / MENDAKI / SINDA; or
Currently holding a Blue or Orange card under the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS); or
Currently a beneficiary of any other government scheme for low-income families (including but not limited to ComCare, NEU PC Plus, etc).
