Project LADDER
Project LADDER
Project LADDER by Singapore Children’s Society (SCS) is a joint initiative with the Singapore Prison Service that allows children of incarcerated parents to maintain regular contact through tele-visits, preserving family bonds despite physical separation.
They provide a child-friendly environment for family visits as their staff are non-uniformed, and the children can bring a toy from their playroom into the tele-visit room.
They also offer counselling support and refer the families to relevant agencies for further assistance on a need's basis. From time to time, families are invited to ad hoc programmes organised by the SCS. They will regularly keep in touch with the family to encourage them to tele-visit at their centre and continue to check in with them for a short period after the inmate’s release.
Referral Criteria:
Inmates must have at least one child aged 16 and below (based on calendar year at 1st tele-visit to SCS).
At least one registered child must be present at every visit.
Bookings:
Bookings can be made with Singapore Prison Service at https://www.ipris.sps.gov.sg/,
by calling 6546 7170,
